Coenzyme Q10 is used by cells to produce energy needed for cell growth and maintenance. It is also used by the body as an antioxidant.
CoQ10 protects the stability of the cell membrane, protects DNA from free radical induced oxidative damage and it helps to recycle Vitamin E.
Vitamin E prevents cell damage by inhibiting the oxidation of lipids (fats) and the formation of free radicals. It protects other fat-soluble vitamins from destruction by oxygen and aids in the utilization of Vitamin A. Some studies have shown daily use of Vitamin E to be more protective than aspirin for prevention of heart attacks, with no harmful side effects and for study by the National Cancer Institute found that long-term use of Vitamin E substantially reduced prostate cancer risk in smokers, other studies suggest that this Vitamin may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
